CIVIC CENTRE

Located next to City Hall the Merritt Civic Centre is the ideal location for hosting your meeting, conference or special event. With two auditoriums, a full commercial kitchen, numerous meeting rooms of all sizes, the Civic Centre is versatile to host functions up to 450 people. The Merritt Civic Centre is home to many recreation programs and special events.

Nicola Valley Aquatic Centre

The Nicola Valley Aquatic Centre is located next to the Merritt Memorial Arena and a few minutes walk from the Merritt Civic Centre. The facility is also fully accessible for the disabled.

Nicola Valley Memorial Arena

The Nicola Valley Memorial Arena offers the community of Merritt as well as the surrounding area not only winter ice opportunities but serves as a great venue for large special events and non ice activities such as lacrosse. Home to the Merritt Centennial’s , one of the longest running Junior “A” teams in western Canada, the N.V.M.A. also delivers Minor Hockey, Skating, Public Skating and Recreational Hockey programs for all to enjoy.

The Skateboard park is an outdoor park built out of concrete and consists of:

Programs & Events

The City of Merritt Recreation Department organizes several events a year and multiple fitness-oriented programs every season.  Events and programs are highlighted in the City’s RECREATION GUIDE.

The majority of the City’s community events are offered free of charge as part of the City’s commitment to fostering engagement within the community.  The Recreation Department also regularly applies for grants from other levels of government to enhance our programs and events offering.

Structured classes include a nominal fee to cover operational costs, enabling the City to provide quality programs that enhance the quality of life of our citizens.
