Centennial Park

Go for a walk through Centennial Park or just relax on one of the benches and admire the many different species of trees. Cross the Main Street bridge towards Voght Park and let the dogs roam free in the fenced off-leash area, and then venture down the 2.1 KM Coldwater River Trail towards Claybanks RV Park. While this trail was impacted by the flood, the current gravel path is an enjoyable venture.

This park is home to 5 ball fields, kid’s playground, washrooms and a gazebo for all your tournament needs. Also, you can follow the paved trail along the golf course that will lead you right to Rotary Park.

Fairley Park

If your kids are toddlers then Fairley Park is the park to visit. This park was fundraised for and specially designed by the Merritt Fire Rescue Department for the smaller children. The playground equipment will let the little ones explore and swing until content and if they are brave enough they can ride the dinosaur!

Lions Memorial Park

Just traveling through? Need a table and some grass to spread out your lunch and let the kids run? Lions Picnic is set along the Nicola River with trails and a walking bridge to explore. This park has full washroom facility’s to let you have a rest before you hit the road again.
There is NO campground at this park. The only Municipal campground is Claybanks RV Park, which is currently closed.

N’Kwala Park

N’kwala Park is located just across the river from Lions Memorial Park. It’s a peaceful hangout location, ideal for a picnic next to the river. This municipal park should not be confused with the Nkwala Recreation Site west of Merritt, which was closed due to flood damage. No camping is permitted in this municipal park.

Voght Park

Info
Voght Park is one of Merritt’s oldest parks. This park is also along the Coldwater River and located across the river from Centennial Park. At Voght Park you can have a ball game or go for a jog on its 1/8 mile track.
A portion of this park has a fenced, off-leash dog area, with a separate section for small dogs.

Rotary Park

If you want to take the kids out for some fun or just sit on a warm summers evening and listen to the music then Rotary Park is the place to be. Rotary Park has a water park, play ground equipment, band shell, and plenty of room to play. Annual events like Canada Day and Easter are held in the park along with pancake breakfasts and Saturday evenings Music in the Park.

Bench Park

Bench Park
This mixed-use public park is cart friendly and dog-friendly, and features a tennis court and disk golf course.
The Disc Golf Course is free to use and can be played all year round. This 9-hole course is designed for players of all ages and skill levels and signs at each hole make finding your way through a breeze. Don’t have discs? No problem! Discs can be signed out through your local Merritt Public Library. Come out and try one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

Spirit Square
Info
Spirit Square is a central community gathering place in downtown Merritt for community events and activities. The location includes a stage and activity amenities. Currently a fuzz ball table is placed in this location. This location is close to shops and services and is next door to the Merritt Community Police Office and garden.
