Fire Life Safety Education
Fire Prevention Week: “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™”
This year’s campaign strives to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home. The main takeaways can be broken down by focusing on 3 simple steps: install, test, replace. Be sure smoke alarms are installed in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on each level of the home; test your smoke alarms every month; and replace them when they are 10 years old or aren’t working correctly.
Our dedication lies in offering Fire Life Safety Education that is inclusive and available to all members of the community. We accomplish this through a range of programs, such as fire hall tours, educational sessions for preschool and school-aged children, FireSmart initiatives, and adult education programs. We take pride in empowering children with the information they need to stay safe.

FireSmart
Your home can survive a wildfire!
Due to our fire-prone surroundings, every part of our community faces some level of fire risk due to ember spread. However, there is hope for your home to withstand the threat of wildfire if it is properly prepared. Even better, by collaborating with your neighbors, you can establish a FireSmart community that collectively takes steps to mitigate the risk of wildfires. Together, we can create a resilient community that is well-prepared to minimize the impact of wildfires.
