Critical and Information Notifications
Voyent Alert provides notifications of informational and critical alerts by text message, phone call, or email.
Informational alerts may include facility or road closures, event cancellations, and other non-critical notifications. Critical alerts apply to potentially life-threatening incidents, such as fires, floods, emergency room closures, and potential evacuations.
An alarm will sound only for critical alerts. Informational app notifications are silent. Users can adjust their device settings, but critical alerts will include sound notifications regardless of their selected preferences.
Effective December 2022, Voyent Alert was updated to include the following features:
- Receive alerts for both Merritt and the TNRD through one account.
- Choose from multiple notification methods using one subscription:
- App notifications (Apple App Store or Google Play)
- SMS/text messages
- Voice phone calls
- Email notifications
How to Edit Your Account
Open the Voyent Alert app on your phone and select the three-line menu to access the following settings.
- My Topics: View your subscriptions for both Merritt and the TNRD in one account. Subscriptions for additional locations or regions must currently be created using a separate account.
- Locations: Add pins to places you frequently visit, such as your home and workplace, to receive alerts relevant to those locations.
- My Contacts: Your mobile device may already be listed. Select Add New to add your email address, mobile number for SMS/text messages, or landline number.
- My Profile: Optionally add your name or nickname. This information is confidential and can help technical support locate your account if needed.
