In-River Construction Activities
SAFETY RISK IN THE RIVER
There is active Flood Mitigation Construction occurring IN the Coldwater River both at the Middlesboro Bridge location and along the Merritt Public Works Yard.
Due to the significant safety risks to both the community and visitors, tubing and river access are strongly discouraged in these areas due to the entanglement risk with equipment in these areas. If you are using the river upstream of the Middlesboro Bridge site, you MUST disembark at Garcia Street due to the river being blocked with equipment.
