Pursuant to Section 254 of the Community Charter, properties with outstanding delinquent property taxes will be offered for sale for recovery of outstanding property taxes on Monday, September 26, 2016, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Council Chambers at the Merritt City Hall at 2185 Voght Street, Merritt, BC, unless delinquent taxes plus interest are paid prior to the tax sale.  For further information please contact the Tax Department at 250-378-4224.  Click here for further information on the tax sale process.

On Friday, August 19, 2016, the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations issued an information bulletin for the Merritt area with notification that the Coldwater River System is nearing level 4, "extremely dry" drought conditions.

NOTICE OF REVITALIZATION TAX EXEMPTION BYLAW

Where: One lane of 2000 block Granite Avenue (next to Spirit Square)

A permissive tax exemption is a means for Council to support organizations within the community which further Council's objectives of enhancing quality of life (environmental, economic, social, cultural) and delivering community services economically.

The Finance and Audit Committee Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 10:30a.m. has been moved to 1:00PM on the same day. The meeting will take place in the board room at City Hall.
