What's new?

A fire at the Kengard Manor apartment complex was reported just before noon on March 16, 2017.  Merritt Fire Rescue Department crews attended, and at this time a fire crew is still on scene completing Fire Watch.

The City of Merritt, in co-operation with the BC Wildfire Service, is planning to conduct a prescribed burn in the area of the Airport to reduce wildfire threats.

BC Transit is changing their fares for Merritt effective April 1st, 2017.

As early as next week, residents can expect to see smoke above the Bench in the City’s northwest sector, as the BC Wildfire Service assists the City of Merritt with a fuel management project to address priority issues identified in the Community Wildfire Prevention Plan (CWPP).

Please be reminded that a late penalty of 10% of the Business Licence fee will apply to those businesses which have not renewed their 2017 Business Licence by January 9, 2017. Business Licence renewal invoices were mailed out at the end of November 2016.

2017 Dog Licence renewal notices were mailed out at the end of November 2016 to all registered dog owners within the City of Merritt.  The payment due date for your dog licence is January 6, 2017.  The City of Merritt Animal Control Bylaw No.

Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 20th, 2016 in the Council Chambers at Merritt City Hall, located at 2185 Voght Street, Merritt, BC.

There will be a temporary road closure for County Christmas Light Up Parade on Friday, November 25th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
