What's new?

Effective September 5th, 2017 the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) will no longer be accepting plastic bags in its mixed recycling program.  This effects the recycling program the City of Merritt offers.

What will no longer be accepted: 

Today until 5:00 PM, Service Canada agents are on site in Merritt to answer any questions evacuees have about Employment Insurance and Pensions.

Some assistance may also be available for anyone who needs to apply for E.I.

The City of Merritt experienced an interruption with our computer system on June 1, 2017.   This interruption affected the application of some of the payments made on the following dates:

The City would like to remind residents that any sandbags used in flood response should be removed and adequately disposed of after the event has concluded.  This is important to ensure public safety and for the protection of the environment.

The Nicola River water levels within the boundaries of the City of Merritt have not changed substantially over the long weekend.  

The deadline for Expressions of Interest in Leasing Aviation Hangar has been extended until 2:00 pm local time on Thursday June 15, 2017.
