For Immediate Release (April 25/13): The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is getting ready to host four free Household Hazardous Waste Round-Ups this year as part of efforts to help residents properly dispose of materials that are toxic, corrosive, reactive or ignitable.

The City of Merritt is receiving strong interest and increased visitor numbers on their new website, which launched in February.

The City works crew will be commencing the annual Cemetery clean up from May 5 – 11, 2013. Any offerings or memorabilia that are placed on headstones will be removed and placed at the Pine Ridge Cemetery shed.

Merritt—April 18, 2013—The City of Merritt Business & Economic Development Manager is leaving his post on May 3rd. According to Matt Noble, CAO, Mr. Umpherson is moving on to tackle new opportunities and challenges. We wish him the best of luck.

Merritt —April 16, 2013—The City of Merritt will conduct a Public Consultation on April 23, 2013 from 4-6 pm at the Civic Centre. According to the Community Charter, the City of Merritt must undertake a process of public consultation and approve a financial plan annually.

Merritt —April 16, 2013—Over 40 tourism stakeholders met February 6th in Merritt for a workshop to provide input for a tourism plan for the area.

TNRD staff will be at the Civic Centre on May 11th, from 9am-3pm collecting and recycling hazardous household materials.
