Merritt, British Columbia – May 14, 2013 – The bike to work week program in Merritt BC, will be adding a little incentive to sign up for its first go around in the provincial program.

The City of Merritt welcomes children between the ages of 5 and 12 to submit their hand drawn suns to be chosen for banners that will hang at Spirit Square.

Make this Spring extra special. On May 14th join your friends, family and work mates and ride your bike to vote.

The second Xeriscape workshop, sponsored by the City of Merritt and The Water Resource Advisory Committee  was a huge success with attendance almost double the first.  People attended not only from Merritt but also from Logan Lake, Ashcroft and Douglas Lake.

For Immediate Release (April 25/13): The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is getting ready to host four free Household Hazardous Waste Round-Ups this year as part of efforts to help residents properly dispose of materials that are toxic, corrosive, reactive or ignitable.

The City of Merritt is receiving strong interest and increased visitor numbers on their new website, which launched in February.

The City works crew will be commencing the annual Cemetery clean up from May 5 – 11, 2013. Any offerings or memorabilia that are placed on headstones will be removed and placed at the Pine Ridge Cemetery shed.
