What's new?

The City of Merritt and Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 900 (Merritt Unit) ratified a renewed collective agreement on July 14, 2015. The renewed agreement is for a three year term from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2017.

The City purchased nearly 3 acres of land from CP Rail in 2014 that parallels Quilchena Avenue east of Main street.  The primary reason was to extend Cleasby Street which will provide better north-south connectivity within the City’s road network.

Effective July 6, 2015 the Lower Nicola Eco-Depot will be open 8am-4pm.  7 days a week, year round.
