What's new?

The whole facility will be closed commencing August 31st through to September 7th.  The fitness room only will reopen Tuesday, September 8th - Monday to Friday.  The pool will be closed for at least 1 month.  We currently do no have an exact date that the pool will reopen.

The 2015 Grant in Aid Application deadline has passed. However, Council may allocate grant in aid funds in response to requests received during the calendar year with dispersal of funds from either the grant in aid or community initiative fund.

As part of our educational program, WildSafeBC will be in Merritt starting the week of August 24th until the end of September to do periodic garbage tagging. New bylaws in Merritt dictate that garbage bins cannot be placed out beside the curb before 5 am on collection day.

The City of Merritt and Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 900 (Merritt Unit) ratified a renewed collective agreement on July 14, 2015. The renewed agreement is for a three year term from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2017.

The City purchased nearly 3 acres of land from CP Rail in 2014 that parallels Quilchena Avenue east of Main street.  The primary reason was to extend Cleasby Street which will provide better north-south connectivity within the City’s road network.
