It is a great place to live and visit, work and play, and our City Council is committed to keeping the mission statement a reality: “The City of Merritt is a progressive, attractive, economically viable city that is socially responsible and environmentally sustainable.” Merritt —May 10, 2012—The City of Merritt and its publishing partner, the Merritt Herald, is pleased to announce the release of the 2012 Merritt Official Visitor’s Guide. The City of Merritt’s Economic Development Manager, James Umpherson, says “our partners at the Merritt Herald have worked closely with the City in the conceptual framework, the themes, storyboard layout, and presentation of the Guide. The 2012 Official Visitor’s Guide represents the direction and focus of marketing and promotion the City has been working to establish. We believe this is the best Visitor’s Guide available”. The Guide is a shift from the traditional to a fresh new look, feel, and approach to promoting the City of Merritt. The 2012 Visitor’s Guide differentiates itself from other guide formats through a change in the size and its modern approach. The Visitor’s Guide will stand out and will be a focal point for everything Merritt. The Guide will help visitors and locals alike to discover new things to see and do in the community.
