River Walk + Ceremony + Public Information Session

Join Mayor Michael Goetz at this milestone walk and river ceremony. All members of the public are invited to join the Mayor’s walk as he surveils the progress of recovery and reveres the resiliency of our community as we work to build back from the disastrous November 2021 flood.

9:00 AM  – 10:15 AM   |   11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

This estimated 7.5km walk is inspired by the Mayor’s personal commitment to recognize the impact that this tragic event has had on our community, to acknowledge the progress that the City and community members have achieved on their road to recovery, and to highlight work that still needs to be accomplished with the support of the provincial and federal governments.

The river ceremony will be led by local First Nations.  The Public Information Session and Recovery Announcement will be shared by the Mayor and the City of Merritt’s Recovery team.
