FortisBC - Nominate a Project In Our Community

FortisBC will be investing in community-enhancing projects across the province and grant recipients will be announced during the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Convention in September.
FortisBC is investing up to $15,000 in each of three communities across the province. In the weeks leading up to the UBCM Convention, local government-elected officials and staff can nominate a local charity or nonprofit project, service or initiative to receive a FortisBC Community Giving contribution. Funding recipients will be announced during our reception for the 2015 UBCM Convention on September 21.

Tell us how we can help with a project that will benefit your community!

Fill out the 2015 Community Giving nomination form. Click here for the link to the nomination form.

We'll contact the nominated organizations or charities to obtain further details on the proposed community projects. Preference will be given to projects that align with one or more of our community investment categories:
 safety – projects that promote and/or increase community or personal safety and accident avoidance
 education – projects that support energy literacy, trades or skill development, and/or leadership
 environment – projects that directly benefit the local environment
 aboriginal initiatives – projects that meet the unique needs of an Aboriginal group, organization or community

Preference will also be given to projects expected to show major results or completion by August 15, 2016.

FortisBC, in its sole discretion, will determine the recipients of Community Giving funding and reserves the right to reject or exclude any nomination for any reason.
Limitations or exclusions:
 churches or other religious organizations
 fraternal or labour organizations
 sports team or individual sports/athletic pursuits
 third-party fundraising events (e.g. golf tournaments raising money for a local charity)
 operating costs (salaries, rent, service fees, advertising costs, etc.)
 advocacy groups (e.g. religious, social, political or economic)
 groups, programs or organizations located outside of FortisBC’s service area

Submit your nomination by noon (12 p.m.) September 14, 2015.

Funding recipients will be announced at the FortisBC reception during the 2015 UBCM Convention on September 21, 2015.

Up to three investments for community initiatives, up to $15,000 each.
