With the launch of the new City of Merritt website, there has been an evolving process of continuously adding and updating information to the site to ensure that visitors, residents, and business have the most current information. A part of this process is to provide resources that are beneficial to those looking to explore opportunities in Merritt.
The City of Merritt is pleased to announce that three new and important sections to the website have been added to the section, Doing Business. Under this tab and on the Economic Development page, we have added resources for business that include local, provincial, and federal support, including, start up support, financing, tax credit programs, and wage subsidies for business. According to James Umpherson, Economic Development Manager, “adding information and resources that support as many facets of business development is key to ensuring industry, companies, and interested investors have the best information available to make an informed decision”. He further adds, “providing links to the many resources and programs for business, industry, and investors has the potential to be a tipping point in deciding to start, expand, and attract companies to the City of Merritt”.
