Merritt —April 16, 2013—The City of Merritt will conduct a Public Consultation on April 23, 2013 from 4-6 pm at the Civic Centre. According to the Community Charter, the City of Merritt must undertake a process of public consultation and approve a financial plan annually.
Financial Service Manager, Pat Sibilleau, says that “the progression of formulating a 5-year financial plan along with the public consultation process is crucial for long term sustainability and community support for the direction of the City of Merritt.” Mayor Roline echoes the Financial Services Manager’s sentiments. She says that “the process is important because the financial sustainability of the community is based on the priority and current needs of citizens with an eye to the future growth of our community.”
