General Matters – Delegations and Recognitions
  1. Ms. L. Fletcher, Executive Director, Merritt Youth & Family Resources Society presented to Council the new business plan for usage of the building located at 1721 Coldwater Avenue on a fee for service basis.  Merritt Youth & Family Resources Society is looking to obtain a resolution from Council regarding the lease renewal.  Also discussed was connection with Boys & Girls Club and child care options.

Regarding Residential Water Meter List And Readings

  1. THAT Council directs staff to not act on this request at this time

Bylaws
  1. THAT the City of Merritt Sanitary Sewer Bylaw amending Bylaw No. 2156, 2013 be given first reading
  2. THAT the City of Merritt Sanitary Sewer Bylaw amending Bylaw No. 2156, 2013 be given second reading
  3. THAT the City of Merritt Sanitary Sewer Bylaw amending Bylaw No. 2156, 2013 be given third reading
New Business:
  1. THAT Council release eleven thousand seven hundred sixty-nine dollars and sixty-five ($11,769.65) cents from the Council Contingency Fund to replace the broken Thermal Imaging Camera in use at the Merritt Fire Rescue Department
  2. THAT Council varies the requirement for the installation of a   water meter for the 4” water line to accommodate the fire sprinkler system at the Kengard Learning Centre
  3. THAT Council support the Merritt Curling Club Centre request for a grant-in-aid in the amount of ten thousand ($10,000) dollars for the repair of the roof on the curling club centre
Reports From council:
  1. Councillor Baker reported on the Wildfire Training Centre grand opening
  2. Mayor Roline also attended the grand opening of the Wildfire Training Centre
  3. Councillor Goetz thanked Council for pushing forward with the Wildfire Training Centre project
  4. Councillor Norgaard also commented on the Wildfire Training Centre grand opening
  5. Councillor Baker advised of the upcoming Art in Grand show, the Crime Stoppers event and UBCM
Information Items
  1. THAT Resolution No. IC034/13 “THAT Administration negotiate a new operational agreement for a term of two (2) years with Merritt Arena Sports subject to the provision of a complete financial performa and an open mind to expressions of interest;

    AND THAT Administration negotiate a new eighteen (18) month janitorial contract with the legitimate lowest bidder” be taken out of In-Camera
