Pursuant to City of Merritt Council Procedures Bylaw No. 2055, 2008 Section 21(f) Public Input period shall be discontinued for meetings in the two (2) months preceding a civic election

GENERAL MATTERS - Delegations and Recognitions

  • THAT Council accept the Merritt Visitor Information at Baillie House 2014 third Quarter Report
  • THAT Council approve Development Permit amendment application DP2014-H (Comfort Inn on DeWolf Way) and authorizes issuance of the amended permit subject to the requisite security bond being received for landscaping and receiving final consent from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure
  • THAT Council approve of the grant application to UBCM for Merritt’s Age-Friendly action plan;

    AND THAT Council allocate ten thousand ($10,000) dollars towards the age-friendly plan

  • Councillor Goetz attended the Rockin’ River announcement on October 16th, the Interior Community Services open house at the their new location and the vigil for Canada’s fallen heroes 
  • Councillor Baker attended the Small Business Business after Business and the School Trustees All Candidates meeting
  • Councillor Christopherson also attended the Small Business Business after Business event, the Scholl Trustees All Candidates meeting and the vigil at the cenotaph 
  • Mayor Roline attended a number of events including:
    • Rockin’ River Music festival announcement
    • BC government information session on the LNG project in BC
    • Merritt Centennials ice breaker
    • Sikh Temple event and luncheon for the Sikh priest
    • Interior Community Chamber of Commerce Business after Business
    • Love to Dance Academy medal presentation
    • Ministry of Transportation meeting in Kamloops regarding the 10 year transportation plan bringing to attention the Merritt Airport upgrade, Nicola Avenue-Voght Street intersection, 4 laning of Nicola Avenue to Exit 286 and the Exit 290 pedestrian overpass and encouraged all residents to complete the on-line survey at
    Mayor Roline also provided an update on the Air Quality panel that was held in Merritt regarding our air quality
