BYLAWS

Zoning Bylaw 2134, 2014

  • THAT second reading City of Merritt Zoning Bylaw No. 2134, 2014 be rescinded
  • THAT City of Merritt Zoning Bylaw No. 2134, 2014 Section 6.21.2 Permitted Uses a) (iv) be amended by deleting “processing of asphalt;”
  • THAT City of Merritt Zoning Bylaw No. 2134, 2014 Schedule “A” be deleted in its entirety and replaced with a new Schedule “A” map indicating property located on DeWolf Way (pub) be zoned C4 rather than C8; AND THAT City of Merritt Zoning Bylaw No. 2134, 2014 Part Six – Zoning Districts, Other Regulations be amended by inserting “All specific use regulations shall comply with Part 5”
  • THAT City of Merritt Zoning Bylaw No. 2134, 2014 be read a second time as amended
  • THAT City of Merritt Zoning Bylaw No. 2134, 2014 be forwarded to a Public Hearing
  • THAT City of Merritt 2015 Property Tax Exemption Bylaw No. 2184, 2014 be adopted

NEW BUSINESS

  • THAT Council adopt the Arts & Culture Policy as presented
  • THAT City Council allocate two thousand ($2,000) dollars from the 2014 City Initiatives Program budget area to support Reconciliation Canada’s Dialogue Workshops in Merritt in 2015
  • THAT Council accepts the application and awards a Revitalization Tax Exemption Certificate, subject to issuance of an occupancy permit to Merritt Green Energy Ltd.

REPORTS FROM COUNCIL

  • Councillor Menard attended the change of ownership of the Sagebrush Golf Course
  • Councillor Goetz is videoing the progress of the Central Park, Merritt Green Energy and Merritt Fire Hall projects
  • Councillor Baker attended a Centennials game and commented on the new clock and gave kudos to the downtown business owners in support of the closed roads for the Pacific Forest Rally
  • Mayor Roline attended the final race at Merritt Speedway and the Knights of Columbus Oktoberfest festivities
