Unfinished Business:
  1. Council directed the Leisure Services Manager to prepare a Request for Proposal for the next phase for development of Central Park and Voght Park
  1. Council gave first reading to the City of Merritt Revitalization Tax Exemption Bylaw No. 2126, 2011
New Business:
  1. Council support Merritt Green Energy's application to the Agriculture Land Commission for utility use on agricultural land for the purposes of transmission pole placement including within the area of the City's rapid infiltration basins
  2. Council grant a variance to Merritt's 100th Anniversary Committee to the Memorial Recognition Community Enhancement Program Policy to be able to use Barco Products Canada Bench Style #PUP954-WL6 to be placed outside the City core; AND THAT Council direct Merritt's 100th Anniversary Committee to provide more definition to the request such as where the benches would be placed, what would be written on the benches, the cost of the finished product including the cement pad etc
  3. Council remove Ashly Day, Lynda Davy and Sue Backus from the Merritt Country Christmas Committee and appoint Judy Hughes to the Merritt Country Christmas Committee
  4. Council supported the City of Greenwood in urging the Federal Government to make the necessary changes to the Criminal Code of Canada making the sexual offender registry public
  5. Council resolved to provide a letter of support to the BC Community Living Action Group
Reports from Council:
  1. Councillor Kroeker reported on the TransCanada Yellowhead Highway Association Mid Term Directors meeting
  2. Councillor Sanders reported on the Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association Summit
  3. Councillor Murdoch thanked Randy Murray and Councillor Sanders for their effective articulation on health issues during the recent meeting with John Les
  4. Councillor Baker thanked the Chief Election Officer and Deputy Cheif Election Officer for a job well done running the 2011 Municipal Election and reminded the community to attend the Community Concert on Thursday, November 24th and the Country Christmas parade on Friday, November 25th
  5. Councillor Sanders commented on the Art on Ice she attended
  6. Councillor Goetz echoed Councillor Baker in thanking the Chief Election Officer and Deputy Chief Election Officer as well as the media and press during the election
  7. Mayor Roline commented that BCCMA announced their partnering with the Merritt Desert Inn to open the BCCMA Hall of Fame in 2012
  8. Councillor Sanders thanked the community for the opportunity to serve on Council, she enjoyed the process and will miss it
  9. Mayor Roline thanked Mavis and Jack Polman's for updating the history books available at the Museum and Baillie House; and thanked Deanne Parise-Brigden and Mae Ketter for the economic development services provided in the past to the City
  10. Councillor Goetz advised the Country Christmas parade will have a Grand Marshall this year - Ken Moyes representing the Merritt pioneer families
  11. Councillor Baker thanked Councillor Sanders for her 3 years of service and exemplary performance and she will be missed
  12. Mayor Roline thanked all Council members for their contributions over the past 3 years and is looking forward to working with the new Council
