Unfinished Business

1. THAT City Council accepts the application from Purity Feeds and awards a Downtown Revitalization Tax Exemption Certificate for the façade improvements at 1690 Voght Street


1.  THAT Architectural Drawings for Two-Phase Addition to Current Fire Station City of Merritt Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 2149, 2013 be abandoned

2.  THAT the City of Merritt rescind the third reading of the Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw No. 2154, 2013

3.  THAT City of Merritt By-Election and Voting Procedure and Automated Voting Machines Authorization Bylaw No. 2157, 2013 be adopted

New Business: 

1. THAT Council approve the proposed schedule of Regular Council meetings for 2014 varying from the two (2) Regular Council meeting per month in November and December to one Regular Council meeting in the months of November and December

2.  THAT Council accept the third quarter report for the Merritt Visitor Information at the Baillie House as presented

Notices of Motion:

Councillor Goetz made the following Notice of Motion

THAT Council meets with MLA Jackie Tagert and MP Dab Albas to discuss the last post funds for Veterans.Reports From Council:

  1. Councillor Goetz attended the Remembrance Day Ceremony
  2. Councillor Baker reported that the Air Quality Committee lost a member of the Committee, Mrs. Brenda Stockford; she will surely be missed
  3. Mayor Susan Roline attended the Lower Nicola Indian Band Swearing in Ceremony; the SILGA education workshop on budgeting and finance; the Nicola Valley Health Care Auxiliary Meeting; Raise the Root in Tulameen; the Remembrance Day Ceremony and the TOTA workshop
  4. A reminder that the Provincial Government is in the process of modernizing the Water Act and is requesting public comments which can be done online
  5. The City of Merritt is the 56th community accepted as a Special Olympics community
