  1. Council did not support the request from the Walk of Stars for $5,000 for preparations to open the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame
  2. Council supported the request from the Walk of Stars for up to a maximum of $5,000 based on 20% of the actual cost (Walk of Stars to provide receipts) of the preparations to open the Canadain Country Music Hall of Fame
  3. Council supported the request from the Walk of Stars for up to a maximum of $1,000 based on 20% of the actual cost (Walk of Stars to provide receipts) of the "Soft" Grand Opening of the Canadain Country Music Hall of Fame June 06, 2011
  4. Council did not support the request from the Walk of Stars for up to a maximum of $1,000 based on 20% of the actual cost (Walk of Stars to provide receipts) for Walk of Stars members to attend the Canadain Country Music Awards in Hamilton, Ontario September, 2011

New Business:
  1. Council resolved the City of Merritt has obtained the assent of the electors to petition the Minister of COmmunity, Sport and Cultural Development to extend the boundaries of the City of Merritt as it appeared in the Gazette under issue May 26, 2011 and in the local newspaper, Merritt Herald under issues of June 23, 2010 and June 30, 2010 and that all relevance legislative requirements pertaining to a municipal boundary extension in the Local GOvernment Act  and the Community Charter have been completed and further that the parcels approved for inclusion within the City of Merritt are as follows: Lot 8, DL167, KDYD Plan 15716, property identification number 008-750-378
  2. Council set the deadline for receiving elector responses as part of the alternative approval process for City of Merritt DeWolf Way Enhancement Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 2120, 2011 as August 15, 2011
  3. Council adopted the 2010 Annual Report as presented
  4. Counted adopted the 2010 Satement of Financial Information as attached
  5. Council accepted the 2010 Development Cost Charge Report as presented
  6. The recommendations from the Airport Committee to Council were tabled to the July 26th Regular Council meeting
  7. Council directed Administration to respond to the District of Logan Lake stating that the City of Merritt has no objection to the District of Logan Lake having this property converted to be used as an Interior Women's Remand Facility
Reports from Council:
  1. Councillor Baker reported he attend the Wester Bio-Energy open house on June 23rd and thanked the Public Wrks Department for installing letdowns on handicap spots on main street of Quilchena Avenue
  2. Councillor Murdoch thanked the Public Works Department for installing the grating around the trees on Quilchena Avenue
