Public Input:
  1. Ms. G. Prowal took this opportunity to thank members of City staff (Shawn Boven, Darrell Finnigan, Kevin Vilac, Ben Currie, Carole Fraser and Larry Plotnikoff) that have provided valuable assistance to the Water Resource Advisory Committee.  Ms. Prowal had brought a number of items for display.
General Matters:
  1. Water Resource Advisory Committee, Ginny Prowal, Chair, Water Resource Advisory Committee

    Ms. G. Prowal, Chair, Water Resource Advisory Committee presented to Council of activities of the committee over the last year including:
    »History of the Water Resource Advisory Committee
    »Water Meters
    »Public Feedback

    The committee requested the City perform a onetime study to provide a list of all residential meters installed to date and a reading of those meters;  and meet with Council in the fall to set goals for the committee.

New Business:
  1. THAT Council approve Development Permit application DP2013-D for Quality Inn and Suites located at 4025 Walters Street subject to the bond being received for landscaping
  2. THAT Council approves naming the street “Phillips Street” after Phillips, F.W. 1929;

    AND THAT Council approves naming the first cul-de-sac on the right heading north “Pope Place” after Pope, R.E. 1931;

    AND FURTHER THAT Council approves naming the second cul-de-sac on the right heading north “Billett Place: after Billett, F.B. 1923

  3. THAT Council approve Development Permit application DP2013-H for Kruse N Style
  4. THAT Council authorizes the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer, on behalf of the City of Merritt, to sign the Statutory Right of Way agreement and subordinate documents, subject to the City receiving the requisite fees for a Building Permit and issuing the same
Notices of Motion:
  1. Councillor Christopherson made the following Notice of Motion:

    THAT the Merritt Morning Market be included in the City’s list of contacts to receive press releases to the media issued by the City of Merritt.

Reports From council:
  1. Councillor Goetz attended the 29th Annual Merritt Kennel Club Dog Show and the July 01st Canada Day Celebrations.  Councillor Goetz thanked Larry Plotnikoff and the Leisure Department staff for planning a great event
  2. Councillor Norgaard congratulated the Knights of Columbus on a great breakfast at the Canada Day Celebration event
  3. Mayor Roline attended the GeoCaching event (which will be held in Saskatchewan in 2014); attended the Canada Day Celebrations and thanked the event planners
