GENERAL MATTERS - Delegations and Recognitions

Ms. Langlois requested that Council approve a donation of three hundred and seventy-five ($375) dollars plus tax to cover the cost of advertising for the Kraft Hockeyville 2017 Nominations.

Ms. Langlois clarified that a high voter turnout is required in order to be eligible to win.

Ms. Langlois further clarified that the nomination period takes place in March 2017, and proposed that the requested funding be available to them by the end of February 2017.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

THAT Geoffrey William Sholtens be appointed to the Tourism & Economic Development Committee

NEW BUSINESS

THAT the Licence of Occupation Agreement for the portion of dedicated highway created by Plan KAP11069 known as 1201 McMillan Road be approved; AND THAT the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to sign on behalf of the City

THAT Council appoint a liaison to the Downtown Voice

THAT Council accept the 2016 Year End Report for the Visitors Information Booth at the Baillie House

THAT Council receive the 2016 Budget Position Report (Pre-Audit) and the 2016 Capital Project Status Report as submitted

THAT Council resolves to award the Tender for the Landscaping of the Nicola Avenue Medians to Sierra Landscaping in the amount of one hundred and seventy thousand two hundred and seventy-five dollars and ninety-one cents ($170,275.91) including applicable taxes

THAT Council approve for Councillors Brown, Norgaard, and Prowal to attend a Scientific Bio-Solid Forum in Kamloops on February 22-23, 2017

  • Councillor Baker attended a Business Retention and Expansion workshop, and a Budget meeting.
  • Councillor Goetz provided the latest Gas Buddy prices, and attended a Tourism and Economic Development Committee meeting, Social Planning Committee meeting, Budget meeting, Job Fair, and acknowledged the recent passing of Ken Moyes.
  • Councillor Brown attended a Business Retention and Expansion workshop, Budget meeting, and met with Community Futures.
  • Councillor Norgaard attended a Business Retention and Expansion workshop, Budget meeting, Social Planning Committee meeting, and a Nicola Watershed Steering Committee meeting.
  • Councillor Prowal attended a Naturalist Society meeting, and the inaugural Environment Committee meeting.
  • Mayor Menard attended a Social Planning Committee meeting,
    Job Fair, Budget meeting, TNRD meeting, met with the Rodeo Association and the Nicola Valley Fall Fair Association, and thanked the City and RCMP for their assistance in relation to the memorial service for Ty Pozzobon.
