Public Input:
Ms. G. Prowal, Water Resource Advisory Committee Chair commented to Council the committee's support for the part time Bylaw Officer but also requested 1 summer student for the Water Resource Advisory Committee
Unfinished Business:
  1. Council approved to provide a letter of support to the Bass Coast Festival
  2. Council authorized a letter from the Mayor be sent to Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada indicating "our thanks for the referral and the opportunity to comment, however, the City's interests are unaffected by the proposed change" to Douglas Lake IR No. 3, Upper Nicola First Nation land transfer
  1. Council adopted City of Merritt Solid Waste Collection, Disposal and Control Amending Bylaw No. 2143, 2013
  2. Council adopted City of Merritt Waterworks Amending Bylaw No. 2144, 2013 
  3. Council adopted City of Merritt Sanitary Sewer Amending Bylaw No. 2145, 2013 
New Business:
  1. Council approved a personal letter of support be sent to School District No. 58 from the Mayor supporting the School Community Connections grant
  2. Council recommended the Thompson Nicola Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Plan Bylaw No. 2049, 2013 be accepted
  3. Council approved the 2013 provisional operating and capital budgets as endorsed during the budget review with exception of the CPO project at Spirit Square
  4. Council approved the watering regulations for automatic sprinklers water from midnight to 4:00 a.m. and manual sprinklers water from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  5. Council approved that City of Merritt Environment Advisory Committee Establishment bylaw and any and all amendments be rescinded
  1. Council Baker requested support for Mayor Roline to submit her nomination for a Director at Large at the upcoming SILGA conference and Council passed a resolution supporting Mayor ROline's nomination
  2. Mayor Roline was invited to be a judge for the Heart & Stroke Foundation on February 14th, attended the Nicola Lake Project meeting on February 15th and participated in the LGLA conference February 20-23rd
  3. Councillor Norgaard attended the Economic Development seminar on February 25th with Councillor Kroeker, Mayor Roline and the Economic Development Manager
  4. Councillor Baker attended the Rotary Club Indoor Golf Tournament and commented on the generosity of the reisdents of Merritt
