Ms. Tomchuk requested the Mayopr to request Council reconisder the motion on branding

Ms. Mitchell commented Roberts Rules of Order point of order amendment should have been re-read

Mr. Zimmerman - why do we need a brand? By whose authority do you spend $8,000 for another community to change our brand

Ms. Fair stated the brand is completely inappropriate

General Matters – Delegations and Recognitions

Ms. Dawn Chypyha representing all citizens of Merritt and the Nicola Valley opposed to the new brand "Country with Attitude"

Bylaws
  • THAT City of Merritt Official Community Plan Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 2162, 2014 be given third reading
  • THAT City of Merritt Official Community Plan Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 2162, 2014 be adopted
  • THAT City of Merritt Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 2163, 2014 be given third reading
  • THAT City of Merritt Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 2163, 2014 be adopted
New Business:

1. THAT Council approved Silverback Construction with the successful bid of two hundred and fifty six thousand three hundred and thirty dollars ($256,330.00) to construct the addition to the Public Works building

AND THAT the Mayor and Acting Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to execute the necessary documents

2. THAT Council rescind resolution 158/13

3.  THAT Council authorizes the Mayor and Acting Chief Administrative Officer, on behalf of the City of Merritt, to post and publish notice of the proposed Statutory Right of Way pursuant to Section 26 of the Community Charter;\

AND THAT after posting, the Letter Agreement is executed;

AND FURTHER THAT when requested, the Statutory Right of Way and Highway Crossing Agreements with Merritt Green Energy General Partner Ltd. are executed subject to a timing clause stipulating that neither agreement has force and effect unless a building permit is issued on or before March 07, 2015

  5. Mayor Roline attended the Rotary Club annual golf tournament
