General Matters:
  1. Mr. Bob Gibney presented to Council the preliminary infrastructure feasibility studies on the Kingsvale to Oliver Reinforcement Pipleline project
  2. Mr. Tim Shoults presented to Council Glacier Media's full color, high quality gloss stock Visitor Guide requesting the City designate the Merritt News Visitor Guide as the Official Visitor Guide with the back cover sponsorship of $2575
  3. Ms. Alisa Saunders preented to Council the Merritt Herald's revamped Visitor Guide requesting the City designate the Merritt Herald Visitor Guide with a sponsorship request of $3750 including $2000 for the back cover, 2 full pages within the guide at $750 per page and 100 copies for City distribution at $250
  1. Council gave first, second and third readings to the City of Merritt Road Closure Bylaw No. 2127, 2012
  2. Council gave first, second and third readings to the City of Merritt Hotel Room Additional Tax Levy Bylaw No. 2129, 2012
New Business:
  1. Council resolved that the City of Merritt has no objection to the application from the Coldwater Hotel located at Quilchena and Voght Street to the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch for a permanent change in hours of operation for all days except Sunday to be 12:00 pm (noon) to 2:00 a.m
  2. Council awarded the 2012 to 2016 Line Painting contract to Yellowhead Pavement Markings Inc.
  3. Council resolved to bring 3 resolutions forward to SILGA - Cold Weather Shelters, Agricultural Land Commision and Local Governemnt Grants Act
  1. Councillor Goetz discussed the issue of reported dog poisoning in the City dog park and thanked the Bylaw Officer for his involvement and due diligence in following up with the RCMP to dispel these false comments
  2. Mayor Roline advised UBCM is hosting a Healthy Families BC Communities Consultation Session in Kelowna on February 27, 2012 - Council approved Mayor Roline travel expenses to attend
