Bylaws:
  1. Council referred the City of Merritt Revitalization Tax Exemption Bylaw No. 2126, 2011 to staff for further clarification regarding the application and approval process
New Business:
  1. Council approved issuance of the Temporary Use Permit TUP2011-01 for 1896 Blair Street for a period of 2 years subject to a maximum of 6 buses
  2. Council authorizes the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer to sign the agreements and covenants associated with the River Wind project on the land described as Remainder of A, DL 121, PL KAP57842, KDYD
  3. Council approved the application for a Community Recreation Program Infrastructure Grant for the Civic Centre upgrade; and that the City carries forward $40,000 from unexpended 2011 Civic Centre capital budget projects; and further that the City gives pre-budgetary capital approval up to $60,000 towards the project contingent upon the grant application being successful
  4. Council rescinded resolution # 0277/10 in it's entirety
  5. Council amended the appointments of the signing officers
  6. Council referred the renewal of the tourism marketing and development partnership with the Gold Country Communities Society to budget
  7. Council accepted the proposal for a non-financial letter of support to the Quad Riders ATV Association of British Columbia "Poker Ride" for July 01, 2012
Reports:
  1. Councillor Goetz commented on the letter received from the Chilean Fire Department thanking the City of Merritt for the donation of the fire truck as well as cemmenting on Daz Candola and his service to community
  2. Councillor Baker attended the extreme weather's open house
  3. Councillor Brigden reported on the meeting he attended with the Community Garden program group to re-establish the program and wished everyone a Merry Christmas
  4. Mayor Roline commented that UBCM is looking for members to fill vacancies as a result of the recent municipal elections. Council supports Mayor Roline in the submission of her name for Director at Large position on the UBCM Executive
  5. Councillor Goetz thanked Charlotte Martin for her work as Chair of the Merritt Country Christmas Committee
  6. Councillor Kroeker, echoed by all members of Council, wished all of Council, staff and the community a Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year
