GENERAL MATTERS - Delegations and Recognitions

1. Pastor Sherry Peterson provided a report outlining the benefits of the Federatoin of Fire Chaplains Conference she attended in Seattle.

2. Mr. John Flottvick made a presentation to Council in regards to organizing a "Tribute to Hank Williams Show" with all proceeds to go to the Merritt Food Bank.

Bylaws

1.  THAT City of Merritt Amendment No. 1 to Five Year Financial Plan 2013-2017 , Bylaw No. 2164, 2013 be adopted

New Business: 

1. THAT the City renews the lease for the operations of the Nicola Valley Museum and Archives with the Nicola Valley Museum and Archives Association for the term of January 01, 2014 to December 31, 2016 at the rate of $1.00 per year

AND THAT the Mayor and Acting Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to sign on behalf of the City

2.  THAT the City renews the lease for the operations of the Senior Citizen Complex with the Merritt Senior Citizens Association for the term of January 01, 2014 to December 31, 2016 at the rate of $1.00 per year

AND THAT the Mayor and Acting Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to sign on behalf of the City

3.  THAT the City renew the agreement with BC Provincial Court Services for the peroid of January 14, 2014 to January 13, 2016 at the rate of $40,000 per year

AND THAT the Mayor and Acting Cheif Administrative Officer be authorized to sign on behalf of the City

4.  THAT Council directs staff to facilitate the Venture Investment Program to schools in the Merritt city limits to promote entrepreneurship in students grade 6-12

5.  THAT Council directs staff to work with Merritt Herald as the official Visitor Guide to meet the Destination BC time table and ensure free racking at the Provincial Visitor Centers

6.  THAT the Directional Signage Committee recommends to Council that City Administration submits the graphic design examples (provided on the disc) as well as background information to T.O.T.A. in regards to the applications Merritt would like to see and encourage the consider in brand options

7.  THAT the Air Quality Committee recommends to Council that City Staff advertise for new member(s) for the Air Quality Committee
