General Matters:
  1. Mr. W. Fords presented to Council his concerns of health, privacy, security, harmful interference, safety, conservation, increased utility bills and program costs with regards to the BC Hydro "Smart Meter" installation and requested Council petition the Minister of Health that due to the potential for wireless "Smart Meters" to cause harm, a moratorium be placed on mandatory installation of the wireless meters
Unfinished Business:
  1. Council passed a resolution directing Administration to create a Draft Policy and/or Procedure to address whenever the City enters into financial partnering with organizations and/or societies; those funds provided by the organization and/or soceity be spent before City funds are expended
  1. The City of Merritt Airport Subdivison and Servicing Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 2119, 2011 was adopted
Notices of Motion:
  1. Council resolved that the Terms of Reference for the Directional Sigange Committee be returned to Council for further consideration as the committee currently does not have enough members for quorum
Reports from Council:
  1. Councillor Goetz extended congratulations on a job well done to the Merritt 100th Anniversary Committee on the Anniversary celebration week events as well as the Merritt Flying Club and the Merritt Fire Department for making the fly-ins during the 100th Anniversary celebration weekend possible
  2. Mayor Roline extended a thank you to all the 100th Anniversary Committee volunteers for a job well done during the 100th Anniversary celebration week and reported that the City received a certificate from Dan Albas, MP, Okanagan-Coquihall congratulating the City on the celebration of it's 100th Anniversary
Information Items:
  1. Council directed staff to contact BC Hydro requesting a presentation on the public issues surrounding the installation of the "Smart Meter" program
