New Business:
  1. THAT the City agrees to extend the contract with Merritt Arena Sports for the operation of the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena for a further two (2) years at the cost of one hundred and eighty six thousand four hundred and ninety-two ($186,492) dollars including taxes in the first year, and the cost of one hundred and ninety two thousand eighty-seven ($192,087) dollars including taxes in the second year;
    • » AND THAT the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer be authorized to sign on behalf of the City
  2. THAT Council approve up to fifteen hundred ($1500) dollars for graphic design services for use with directional signage projects
  3. THAT Council grant the request from The Rotary Club of Merritt Sunrise of waiving the fee (seventy-five ($75.00) dollars plus applicable taxes) for use of Voght Park for the Terry Fox Run providing the City be recognized for the donation

Notices of Motion:

  1. Councillor Murdoch brought forth the following Notice of Motion:

    • » THAT Council instructs Administration to review matters relating to the number of meetings per month and attendees per meeting that a resident in a residential zone is allowed to have;  AND THAT the review should cover what the current rules are and options to amend those rules in light of the importance of small business to Merritt’s economy

  1. Councillor Goetz attended the Nicola Valley Cruiser car show; Highland Valley Copper’s open house and bar-b-q; the Fly-In at the Airport; the Bass Coast Festival walk through  and relayed appreciation to Shawn, Darrell and the Public Works crew for the improvements at the dog park
  2. Councillor Norgaard attended the TOTA meeting in Cache Creek
  3. Councillor Kroeker also attend the TOTA meeting in Cache Creek
  4. Councillor Christopherson attended the luncheon with MLA Tagert and the Minister of Forests
  5. Mayor Roline attended the grand opening of the Community Gardens; the Reno Rod Club tour; Nicola Valley Cruisers show & shine; Bass Coast Festival site tour Art Walk wind up breakfast; Highland Valley Copper bar-b-q; SILGA meeting in Keremos; TOTA/Gold Country planning workshop and congratulated Public Works on the improvements to the parking lot at Central Park
