BYLAWS

  • Council adopted the City of Merrit Zoning Bylaw
  • Council gave first three readings to the City of Merritt Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw
  • Council gave first three readings to the City of Merritt Property Tax Rates for 2015 Bylaw
  • Council gave first three readings to the City of Merritt Water Parcel Tax Bylaw
  • Council gave first three readings to the City of Merrirr Sewer Parcel Tax Bylaw

NEW BUSINESS

  •  Council awards the Midday Valley Road Storm Installation core works to Pyramid Excavating Corp. in the amount of three hundred nineteen thousand and twelve ($319,012) dollars (excluding GST) for the core works;

    AND THAT the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer/Corporate Officer be authorized to execute the required documents

  • THAT Council awards the procurement of the wide area mower to Oak Creek Golf & Turf Ltd. in the amount of seventy six thousand two hundred and sixty-five dollars and sixteen  ($76,265.16) cents including taxes

  • THAT Council approves the City of Merritt Statement of Financial Information for the year ended December 31, 2014 as presented and authorizes the Mayor and Financial Services Manager to sign the Statement on behalf of the City

  • THAT the Mayor be authorized to sign the Merritt RCMP Detachment Strategic Priorities for 2015/2016

  • THAT Council direct staff to work with Nicola Valley Search & Rescue to address the request from Nicola Valley Search & Rescue for a compound at the Merritt Airport

  • Councillor Prowal attended the Chamber of Commerce event on April 15th, Naturalist speaker on April 16th, met with MP Dan Albas on April 17th, participated in the bird count at Douglas Lake Plateau on April 19th, completed the Tech/Highland Valley survey on April 22nd, attended Dr. McLeod’s at the library on April 23rd and met with the Carlson’s regarding friendly trails and commented on the good job being done by H&M Contracting on the Coldwater/Main Street project 
  • Councillor Norgaard attended the VIR Rally on April 16th and the Celebration of Life service for Millie Mitchell on April 17th 
  • Councillor Goetz attended the Bio solids event at the Civic Centre on April 16th and the Celebration of Life service for Millie Mitchell on April 17th  
  • Councillor Baker attended the Chamber of Commerce round table on April 16th and the Celebration of Life service for Millie Mitchell on April 17th
  • Councillor Brown attended the Bio solids event at the Civic Centre on April 16th and the Celebration of Life service for Millie Mitchell on April 17th  
  • Councillor Christopherson attended the Bio solids event at the Civic Centre on April 16th, represented the City at the Celebration of Life service for Millie Mitchell on April 17th
