THAT Council support the Work BC Job Creation Partnership Program with a ten thousand ($10,000) dollar Extraordinary grant through the Community Initiatives fund

THAT given conditions of our environment; staff prepares a zone appropriate drought tolerant planting policy for all of the City’s plantings

NEW BUSINESS

THAT Council direct staff to place a Section 57 Notice on the title of 1798 Voght Street

THAT Council authorize for the Corporate Officer and the Approving Officer (CAO), on behalf of the City of Merritt, to sign the attached Performance Agreement for Lot 1, District Lot 121, KDYD, Plan KAP92850 except Strata Plan KAS4009; PID: 028-905-440; for the financial security from TLB Development Ltd. for the construction of the building strata common facility consisting of a visitor and recreational parking area

REPORTS FROM COUNCIL
  • Councillor Goetz provided the latest Gas Buddy prices.
  • Councillor Brown attended an oil sands tour in Fort McMurray and will be attending the Southern Interior Local Government Association (SILGA) Conference in Sun Peaks from April 26-28, 2017.
  • Councillor Prowal supplied information regarding the plant “Bur Buttercup”.
  • Councillor Norgaard attended a groundbreaking affordable housing event, Hospital Auxiliary dinner at the Coldwater Hotel, and volunteered at the Kengard Manor Donation Centre. Councillor Goetz attended all the events that have already been mentioned and provided the latest Gas Buddy prices.
  • Councillor Christopherson attended a Canada 150 meeting, Community Health Committee meeting, and a Canada 150 film presented by the Film Society at NVIT.
  • Mayor Menard attended a meeting with Tourist Radio, Nicola Valley Hospital Foundation meeting, TNRD meetings, Hospital Auxiliary Equipment Fundraising event, and met with the Rodeo Association and Fall Fair Association.
