GENERAL MATTERS - DELEGATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS
  • THAT pursuant to Section 21 (c) of City of Merritt Council Procedures Bylaw No. 2055, 2008 that Council consider a resolution of support to the Merritt Community Cinema Society
  • THAT a letter from the City be sent to the Merritt Community Cinema Society congratulating them on their efforts thus far;  AND THAT Council is in unanimous support of the project
Bylaws
  • THAT City of Merritt Waterworks Bylaw No. 2166, 2014 be adopted
  • THAT City of Merritt Five-Year Financial Plan Bylaw No. 2170, 2014 be given first reading
  • THAT City of Merritt Five-Year Financial Plan Bylaw No. 2170, 2014 be given second reading
  • THAT City of Merritt Five-Year Financial Plan Bylaw No. 2170, 2014 be given third reading
  • THAT City of Merritt Annual Property Tax for 2014 Bylaw No. 2171, 2014 be given first reading
  • THAT City of Merritt Annual Property Tax for 2014 Bylaw No. 2171, 2014 be given second reading
  • THAT City of Merritt Annual Property Tax for 2014 Bylaw No. 2171, 2014 be given third reading 
New Business:
  • THAT Council supports the preparation of a community wildfire protection plan and the application for funding through the Strategic Wildfire Prevention Initiative of UBCM; AND THAT the City of Merritt will be reponsible for the overall grant management
  • THAT Council supports the Ty Pozzobon Invitiational PBR with an Arena Banner Sponsorship in the amount of one thousand five hundred ($1,500) dollars with funding from City Initiatives fund
Reports From council:
  1. Councillor Baker attended the showing of "Shawna"
  2. Councillor Goetz commented on the gas prices from Merritt to the Lower Mainland
  3. Mayor Roline attended the 1st anniversary of ASK Wellness as well as the showing of "Shawna"; welcomed the delegates of the Women's Institute to Merritt and participated in the Nicola Similkameen School District No. 58 town hall meeting and strategic planning.  Mayor Roline attended the opening of MLA Jackie Tagert's Merritt office; the grand opening of the Quilchena Resort and hosted 21 Collettville School students to City Hall
