Unfinished Business:
  1. Council directed Administration to send a letter of support tot eh Quad Riders ATV Association of BC for their June 25, 2011 "Poker Ride" in the Merritt area
  2. Council suggested that the Community Futures Nicola Valley remove the portion of the promotional video regarding the solar panels AND THAT Council support the Community Futures Nicola Valley promotional video with the solar display portion removed
Bylaws:
  1. Council gave first, second and third reading to City of Merritt Administrative Fees and Charges Amendment Bylaw
  2. Council gave first, second and third reading to City of Merritt Nicola Valley Aquatic Centre Regulations and Rental Rates Bylaw
  3. Council gave first, second and third reading to City of Merritt Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw
New Business:
  1. Council appointed Mayor Susan Roline and Councillors Nadia Clarke and Harry Kroeker to sit on the Parcel Tax Roll Review Panel AND THAT the siting of the panel be Monday, May 02, 2011
  2. Council approved support for the Grand Pub and Grill's application to the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch in order to temporarily extend their licensed area are per their attached April 05, 2011  request
  3. Council authorized the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer, on behalf of the City, to sign the Performance Agreement for the Subdivision and Development for PID: 026-289-695 Lot1, KAP78127, Section23, Township91, KDYD subject to the City receiving the appropriate letter of credit
  4. The City approved the Merritt Mixed Slo Pitch's application for a Special Occasion Liquor License for their year end tournament scheduled for July 23-24, 2011 at Central Park
  5. Council approved the Development Variance Permit Application 2011-01 for 1295 Midday Valley Road and that the berm, approved by the City, be installed and maintained to act as a buffer from nearby residential use
  6. Council provided early budget approval for the recommended 2011 capital items and the recommended grants-in-aid
  7. Council appointed Alissa Saunders as a member of the Environmental Awareness Committee and provided the Environmental Awareness Committee with a budget of up to $1,000 funded from City Initiatives
  8. Council approved the removal of the backstops and dugouts at Voght Park to allow full use of the field for rugby on the condition that letters of agreement be received from other users
Reports from Council:
  1. Councillor Sanders encouraged all to attend the Volunteer Appreciation Tea
  2. Mayor Susan Roline declared Volunteer Appreciation Week
  3. Councillor Murdoch congratulated Public Works staff on the presentation made at the BC Water and Wastewater Association Conference
  4. Councillor Goetz complimented all of those that dressed in period costume for the 100th Anniversary re-enactment as well as congratulated the Financial Services staff for all the work done on the budget preparations
  5. Mayor Roline will be attending the Gold Country Annual General Meeting, Council approved the expenses for this meeting being held April 20, 2011 in Cache Creek
