The City of Merritt would like to remind the general public of the ongoing construction work on Coldwater Avenue between Wilson Street and Chapman Street. As back to school quickly approaches, please be mindful of road closures, detours and delays in this area and plan your route accordingly.

The deadline for new applications for permissive property tax exemptions has been extended to September 15, 2017.

The City of Merritt would like to remind residents that this is the time of year that bear sightings increase as they prepare for dormancy.

Effective September 5th, 2017 the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) will no longer be accepting plastic bags in its mixed recycling program.  This effects the recycling program the City of Merritt offers.

What will no longer be accepted: 
 

Today until 5:00 PM, Service Canada agents are on site in Merritt to answer any questions evacuees have about Employment Insurance and Pensions.

Some assistance may also be available for anyone who needs to apply for E.I.
